Currency

Ibiza is part of Spain, therfore the official currency is the Euro.

Coins of: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents, and coins of 1 and 2 Euros.
There are notes of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500.

Any amount in excess of 6.000 euros that enters or leaves Spain must be declared.

Languages

There are two official languages: Castilian Spanish and Catalan. Ibiza boosts one of the most advanced tourist services in the Med. As a result, English and German are spoken in most, if not all, bars, restaurants and shops and in tourist related businesses.

Tipping

In bars, restaurants and hotels about 10-15% of the cost of food or drink is generally accepted as a welcome tip.

Electricity

The electricity supply in Ibiza is generally 220 V

Emergencies

In the event of an emergency, phone 112 and the Balearic Emergencies Service will attend to you. This Service co-ordinates all calls for ambulances, fire brigade and police forces through this telephone number to provide a rapid and effective response in whatsoever emergency.
